Procedure Details
The CO2 laser is an ablative laser skin resurfacing treatment. It uses light energy that the water in skin tissue readily absorbs. The laser energy precisely targets the outer layer of the skin in the treatment area without damaging the deeper layers of skin. This allows new, healthy skin cells to be produced and reach the surface. At the same time, the CO2 laser induces collagen production and fibroblast stimulation in the skin. In the months after treatment, the skin will continue to produce collagen, which naturally tightens and smooths out the skin.
